You can learn how to sell better.

Today I can hop on IG Live, a podcast, a call with a reporter or even open up a Google Doc and tell a compelling, persuasive story. I can write an email and know it will motivate people to take action, whether it's to join a course, donate to a cause, or just pause and ask themselves a tough question.

But this wasn't always the case.

Rewind back to late 2006. I was launching my 2007 Guide to Kicking Ass:

I was also petrified. 

I had been blogging for years, without selling anything, and now I was afraid people were going to call me a sellout. You can see it in my cowardly, apologetic copy. (When I look at it today, I cringe.)

I had such low self-esteem that I didn't even set up a fulfillment system. Meaning that when people bought it, I was just going to watch the PayPal order come in and send them an email with the PDF attached. 

It's crazy to think about, but I really didn't think anyone was going to buy!

But much to my surprise, people did buy. 

I didn't make millions of sales, but I did sell enough to see that running a business online has potential. And that if I got better at selling, I might be able to turn IWT into a sizable business.

Fast forward several years to when I sold a $12,000 product. No cowardly excuses here. I was just totally upfront about what I had to offer. I was confident. I said, "This is probably not right for you. Here's why. Boom. And here's the select group that I'm looking for. No harm done if you don't buy."

I mean, just think about that. So different, you wouldn't believe it. And I got more complaints about the $5 e-book than the $12,000 product.

This is the power of AUTHENTIC sales.

Knowing how to promote yourself and your business is one of a very short list of must-have skills for any business owner.

And like all skills, it can be learned.

In a few weeks, I'll be teaching a very small, hand-picked group of people how to grow their business with Authentic Sales.
