Candidate,
Advanced Connector's Package — my course on how to build an army of successful people to help you grow your career, get promoted, or find clients faster than you thought possible — is available now.
It's funny when you think about all the things that school taught us. We learned about cell mitosis, but we never learned about how to do our taxes. We learned about dangling participles, but we never learned how to build credit.
The same goes for networking. None of our teachers told us, "Hey, send an email. Let's go see if you can take out a local business person for coffee or learn how to meet people."
Like I said yesterday, building relationships is a skill. You RSVP to a networking party, and all of a sudden these anxieties come up...
Who are you supposed to talk to?
What are you supposed to say?
What if you're one on one?
What if you walk up to a group?
Who teaches you that?
I used to sweat over those questions. I had no idea how to build genuine relationships or confidently walk into a room of strangers and know what to say.
