Hi Candidate,

For the last few weeks, my wife Cass and I have been traveling through India. Recently we headed to Ranthambore for a tiger safari, tried regional food and teas, and visited local artisans. I've been sharing my highlights over on Instagram, and I wanted to share some of them with you here.

We stayed at the Oberoi Vanyavilas luxury resort, and decided to take my aunt and mom with us. When we arrived, they showered us with rose petals.

I love the behind-the-scenes of luxury hotels, the beautiful choreography, and the team of experts behind them.

We got to the hotel around noon, and our safari wasn't until the next day. So I scheduled a surprise Indian tea tasting at the resort for Cass, my mom, and my aunt. They served us 4 teas and regional snacks. Check out this detailed setup:

Normally when you go to a restaurant, you order what you know. This was a chance for us to try a bunch of things at once and hopefully discover something new.

And then…

This is one of my favorite stories I've ever posted. Watch the whole thing here.

We will never forget this tea experience!

The next day, we went on safari in Ranthambore National Park, known for its tigers. We saw monkeys and deer, but unfortunately, no tigers.

I remember going out on safari in Kenya and not seeing animals. It took us a second to shed our American "we should get anything we want when we want it" invisible script and appreciate what we did see.

On safari

We also got the chance to visit the Dhonk Ranthambhore sustainable textiles store, an organization of women who produce artisanal and sustainable goods.

These local women come from a village that would ordinarily kill tigers and profit from their skins. The Indian government has protected tigers, so these women need alternative job opportunities. Dhonk Ranthambhore teaches them artisanal crafts, like block printing and sewing.

Whether it's in the jungle of India or the hills of Italy, I LOVE handiwork and fine artisans. In America we don't always appreciate this, and we're not willing to pay for it. I hope I can inspire you to rethink that.

Check out the full story to learn more about Dhonk and how you can support them.

Finally, I had the pleasure of arranging a surprise dinner for my family with Chef Adit Grover at The Oberoi Vanyavilas. He had overheard where my family was raised and that Cass loved paneer, and made some menu suggestions for dinner.

I made 3 requests: remove the cheese from one dish, highlight the regions each dish is from, and add each person's name to the menu to help us commemorate this special dinner.

This level of personalization is what you pay for in a place like this. The level of service is very high. Each person working here is a master of what they do, and people who are at the top of their game love requests like this. They feel JOY at being able to deliver amazing experiences.

I love being able to use my creativity, time, and resources to work with an amazing team and create something new.

THIS IS MY RICH LIFE.

When was the last time you created an unforgettable memory with people you love? Make a plan in the next 10 days! DM me on Instagram with what you're going to do. I'd love to hear it.
