Year 2019 is about to end...
... and I am considering to declare my retirement.
What does that mean?
That means.. I would still work, but only on things that I love.
That means... no desire to grow the business further.
That means.. no sales emails to sell my courses.
That means.. no business talks.
That also means.. asking my team to find their own ways.
The last point is where I am stuck. I have nurtured my team for last 2 years.. pushed them to move to Chandigarh..
And I can not fire my team members just because I have no desire to grow my business further.
I have built a couple of passive income engines in the last 4-5 years.. those are giving me enough cashflow to pay my monthly bills.
I will write another post on my blog - Why I invested all my savings to buy 1 Acre Farm land.
This month you may get a couple of emails related to my year end reflection and business review.
And how you can get involved in my farming work.
By the way, I have no intension to do commercial farm. It's my dream of growing a self sustainable permaculture farm where insects, birds, animals, plants and humans can co-exist.
Anyways..
Let's go back to the retirement part.
If my team would be willing to find new work then I would happily annouce my retirement. This email is not hidden from them. They have been given the option to find new job.. or they have to grow the business with my minimal involvement.
I have already changed my working days. I work alternate days. One day at the farm and next day in the office.
I would like to work on the things which matters to me.
Content Writing is one of that.
So I will keep writing content whether I am retired or not.. and I don't care much about how much business growth is happening.
Expect a couple of major changes on CashOverflow in 2020
- You would see more content related to investments in stocks and mutual funds because that's where money would grow.
- You would see new model of courses where you would pay after going through the course (I will send an update in Jan/Feb)
- I will be more active on social media.. but not for selling.. I will spread more awareness around investing and financial freedom
- I may discontinue agency business (depends on team's willingness)
- And I would continue learning and teaching content writing skills
- If at least 10 people would be willing.. then may start one year mentorship program to work directly with the participants (online+offline)
As you may got the sense of my intensions..
Financial awareness would be on my agenda for 2020.
Doing some non-commercial work is my goal for 2020.
If I could find action takers.. then may consider personalised mentorship work.. else I am happy spending my free time on my farm.
