Practicing my own language -- watch me practice Punjabi

Candidate,

I can understand Punjabi fluently but I can't speak it very well. So when I hear about people learning languages, I always perk up.

I saw this interview where comedian Aziz Ansari talks about learning Japanese before he moved there.

(When you start looking for examples of people loving to learn fast, you start seeing them everywhere.)

He also talks about learning Italian for the second season of Master of None.

Now, one of those languages he had to learn for work. The other was purely for fun. But here's the thing — he didn't spend more than 3 weeks learning either of them.

Did he become fluent in 3 weeks? No.

Can he walk into any restaurant, chat with the chef, and order off the menu? Yes.

We have this idea that learning has to be all or nothing. We don't just want to learn Japanese. We want to master it. We want to become fluent....

...which stops us from learning anything at all!

The truth is, you can learn a tremendous amount of material — fast — without it taking over your life.

This is a totally new way to look at learning: fast, FUN, and enough to get by.

I've been using it to learn Punjabi. Click here to watch me demonstrate.

If I gave you a "magic ticket" to learn any skill you wanted, what would it be?

Years ago, I wouldn't have known how to answer that.

I used to tell myself I didn't have time or money to learn something new, but the truth is I just used those as excuses.

I wish someone had just shown me how quickly I could actually learn something. And how FUN it could be!

To do that for you...

Here are 10 things you can learn right away.

I included free, $20, and $50+ for all price levels — because I love encouraging ANYONE to find creative and fun ways to learn.

Skills you can learn for FREE

Skills you can learn for $20

  • 1-hour class on salsa dancing, cooking, spin, or wine & art
  • Awesome "behind-the-scenes" tour of your city
  • Visit a museum

Skills you can learn for $50-$100

  • Sake tasting
  • Axe throwing
  • Improv
  • Food tour of your city (these are awesome)

For a few bucks, you could learn any of these things by the end of the week.

Btw, I thought it'd be fun if we all try to learn something new — together. If there's something you want to learn — on this list, or something you come up with yourself — book it TODAY and reply to this email by the end of the day.

I want to hear what you decide to learn!

P.S. The technique I show you in the video above adds a huge dose of fun to the process of learning. Because that's key. If you can't make it fun, you'll quit. (More about how to turn learning into a hobby, not a chore, here.)

P.P.S. Teach Yourself Anything is open now. Don't wait. Check it out now.
