Hi Candidate,

For the last few weeks, my wife Cass and I have been traveling through India. Recently, we had a homegrown breakfast in Ranthambore and visited local temples and markets in Jaipur. I've been sharing my highlights over on Instagram, and I wanted to share some of them with you here.

Our last morning in Ranthambore, Cass and I set up a breakfast at our hotel. Before we sat down to eat, Chef Adit Grover took us on a tour of the garden where they grow food for guests.

He was EXCITED to tell us about the quality of the food.

When you work with the best, they LOVE sharing their craft. Their excitement gets you excited! When was the last time you met someone like this?

When an ordinary customer orders a salad, they might just see leaves on their plate. How do you think we'll feel in 30 minutes when we sit down to eat, knowing exactly where our food came from and the care that went into each dish?

I wanted to show you what it looks like when you choose to do business where you know you'll be taken care of at the highest levels. Where someone is always watching and aiming to be two steps ahead, so you don't have to ask for anything. Where you don't try to get the lowest price, but the absolute best experience.

It's completely different than most people's thinking.

After our stay in Ranthambore, we were planning on taking the train back to Delhi. But Cass suggested a detour to Jaipur. Jaipur was one of our favorite cities the last time we were in India, so she said, "Why not?"

I normally wouldn't change our plans like this, but she is teaching me to be more spontaneous and inspiring me to live an even Richer Life.

In Jaipur we hired a local guide, Digvijay, from Offbeat Masters.

If you're visiting a new place with a different culture, get a guide! It gives you a better understanding of what you're seeing. A good guide is worth every penny.

Don't worry about finding the perfect guide. Just pick a well-reviewed one or a personal recommendation. Look on TripAdvisor or Airbnb, or ask a travel agent or concierge. We've hired art professors in Rome, Maasai tribe members in Kenya, and other guides in so many countries.

Digvijay took us to a Hindu Krishna temple. I'd never been to one before.

Everywhere you turn in India, there are scenes that are hard for Americans to imagine. Digvijay helped us understand some of the traditions, like touching the walls around the statues to get close. This is one of the benefits of having a guide who can explain the subtleties.

After the temple, we went to a market and met local produce and wholesale flower sellers.

Villagers bring flowers to this market every day to sell. They told us about how far they have to travel (and what kind of transportation they take every day) because they have to make a living.

These working conditions are not good. My wish with these stories is that we all get the perspective of seeing how others live and acknowledge the luxuries we don't even realize we have.

Later, Cass and I also got to meet a famous chaiwallah, a person who makes and sells tea.

Why am I showing you all of this?

I love sharing our time in India. The greatest praise for these emails and my Instagram stories is you telling me you're considering traveling there.

But I also love showing you the possibilities of a Rich Life. It's so much more than what's in your bank account. You can create your own flexible life where you decide what's important to you and focus on doing what you love.

Follow me on Instagram for more travel stories from our trip to India and Japan — we'll be heading to Tokyo soon. And send me a DM with what you've noticed about our visit so far. I love hearing from you!
