You could walk in any time, audit almost any class, and have essentially unlimited resources: conference rooms to host groups, meeting spaces, world-class tutors, 24/7 gyms, anything you wanted.

At Stanford, it's hard to get in. But once you get in, they treat you like you're there to do good.
At many places, it's easy to walk in … but they have endless rules to prevent the lowest common denominator from doing something wrong.
This had a profound effect on me. Going to Stanford taught me that you can treat people like they're going to do GOOD by default. This profoundly shaped the way I think about my life, my business, and the people I want to be around.
I wrote up some of my lessons from my 15-year Stanford reunion here.
