| Hi Candidate,
Let's take a look at 3 morning routines from 3 very successful people:
- Tony Robbins — Starts each day with a routine he calls "priming," which includes deep breaths, gratitudes, and prayers
- Anna Wintour — Starts off each day at 5:45am with a 60-min game of tennis
- Bill Gates — Starts each day with an hour on the treadmill while watching courses from The Teaching Company
What do you notice?
My first reaction is: All of these are completely different. One of them focuses on attitude, another on fitness, and a third on learning.
Here's my morning routine: - I wake up, roll over, and check Instagram.
- Then I read Twitter and emails.
- Maybe tell a few jokes on Slack.
| | | | I don't do this every morning but this would be my fantasy | | | | - Then I spend another hour slowly getting up, taking a shower, making coffee, etc.
Basically, I do everything wrong. SORRY GUYS.
The thing I noticed about morning routines — especially the explosion of interest in this topic in the last 3 years — is that everyone wants to know every single intricate detail of morning routines. How long they brew their French press coffee for, what site they get their Ashtanga yoga moves from, everything.
This is the modern-day equivalent of wanting to wear Air Jordans. Maybe if I wear them, I can Be Like Mike.
I guess we all just forgot about the 20 million hours of practice that Jordan did. But gimme those shoes!
Put it this way: I could copy Serena Williams's morning routine and she'd still beat me in tennis with a frying pan. | | | | | The difference isn't in the hacks or breathing techniques or coffee beans. You gotta go much deeper.
The best morning routine is set the day before.
The week before.
Even years before — with a mindset focused on mastery.
The most successful people aren't living in peaceful Zen gardens with no interruptions. Like all of us, they live MESSY lives with too many decisions, too many things to do, and too many places to be.
Sure, you can learn a trick or a hack. Hey, maybe it will help. Maybe deep breathing helps Tony Robbins perform at his best. Or maybe it's his 30 years of working with people every single day and improving his craft, I dunno.
Novices want hacks. Masters will take the hacks, sure, but they realize that all hacks eventually become outdated. But true mastery of the fundamentals never does.
When you ask successful people how they juggle demanding careers, busy social schedules, family commitments, fitness, self-development, and downtime — and do it all without burning out or coming across as frenzied maniacs — what do they say? "Yeah, I just do it."
That's because they've absolutely mastered their fundamentals: Time, money, relationships, and most of all, their own Mental Mastery.
Here's how you know this is true: If these people had to skip their morning routine one day, they'd still be successful.
They simply decide they're going to do it, and they get it done. They don't second guess, they don't stress, they just do it.
They aren't stronger. They aren't smarter. They aren't more gifted.
But they ARE in total control of their minds. They have a Mental Mastery that allows them to do what they need to do … what they want to do … without any of the hang-ups that would make other people get stuck.
| "No matter what, people grow. If you chose not to grow, you're staying in a small box with a small mindset. People who win go outside of that box. It's very simple when you look at it." –Kevin Hart
"Think like a queen. A queen is not afraid to fail. Failure is another stepping stone to greatness." –Oprah Winfrey
"You have power over your mind — not outside events. Realize this and you will find your strength." –Marcus Aurelius | Candidate, it's not about finding a magic pill that can transport you instantly to your goals. It is about mastering and harnessing your mental powers to transform your life in the way YOU want.
I call this Mental Mastery.
I've been fascinated by this for years and secretly collect examples of people who have it. What do they do differently? And more importantly, how do they think differently — and why?
Anytime I met someone who seemed to be operating head-and-shoulders above everyone else, I peppered them with questions to verify what they did differently. Was it habits? Mental frameworks? Were they simply "gifted" from birth?
Slowly, I built a map of this Mental Mastery. I wanted a blueprint to tap into this power source. I found that all winners had four core inner skills in common. Four deep differences that gave them an instant edge in business, work, even relationships.
I tested each of these in my own life. I've shared some of them with my close friends and colleagues. The impact blew me away.
And now I want to give them to you.
I've put everything I've learned into a brand new course: Mental Mastery.
These are the tools you need to crack the mental blocks that have been holding you back for years and replace them with the four core inner skills of winners.
If you've already tried the treadmill of random productivity apps and hacks, and you want to go beyond symptoms to focus on what truly works, Mental Mastery gives you the precise, actionable steps to build these inner skills into your everyday life.
