Candidate,

I was channel surfing over the weekend and I noticed something interesting.

Six different channels were running 4-5 hour blocks of shows...

...ALL ON MAKEOVERS!

Business makeovers, house makeovers, style makeovers, weight loss makeovers, kitchen makeovers...

People LOVE makeovers. When you notice a pattern like this, dig in. Why are there so many makeover shows? What's the psychology behind why people love it?

The answer is this: We love to see the before and after. Not the work that went into it (ZzZzzzz), but the "bad" before and the "amazing" after. TV producers intuitively get this.

Usually, I tend to love the middle area — the process, the work, the systems, and habits.

But I remember once putting together a before-and-after video ... and people LOVED it.

If you're curious, check it out: This is the "before and after" video I did with one of my star students, Chris Clark.

Watch the way he talks at the beginning of the video … versus the end. All just a few minutes apart.

I guess those TV producers know what they're doing.

Just thought I'd share it as a fun way to start your week.

P.S. What if you could change your social skills from "before" to "after" like that?
