The much loved and equally troubled toy retailer has re-opened its (virtual) doors in Australia, after filing for bankruptcy back in 2017. But the re-launch is somewhat tentative, with no physical stores to open until late-2020, leading some experts to question if the retailer could fold a second time. Six-month-old digital menu startup Mr Yum (or Monsieur Miam if you're in France) has locked down a $1.5 million raise from investors, hoping to win over the hearts and wallets of Australian restaurant owners and put an end to food envy. Hopefully it will also put an end to my friends stealing chips off my plate. Disgraceful. And finally, Australian choccy brand Darrell Lea was forced to take down its remake of iconic 2000s ad 'Not Happy Jan' after Sensis claimed it used its intellectual property without permission. For those of us waiting 19 years for closure on Jan's mental health, this is a real kick in the teeth. | | Have a happy week (unlike Jan's), Dom Powell Features and profiles editor | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
