Once upon a time this would have ruined my day

A couple years ago I was in LA. I rented a car for a couple days, and when I returned it, the attendant told me there was a scratch on the side.

"Did you know about this? We're going to have to charge you for it."

Years ago, I would have freaked out at the unexpected expense. "I didn't do it! How much are you going to charge me? You're going to try to screw me."

But this guy was just doing his job. I shrugged and told him, "I didn't scratch it and I don't know how it happened, but if you have to write it up, I understand."

"Customer states he has no idea how it happened."

I knew 3 things:

I didn't scratch the car
I have a support system that will help -- automatic insurance via my credit card, an assistant who will handle the phone calls
Worst case, if I have to pay, I can afford it

In the past, this would have ruined my day. It would have been "just one more thing" to worry about. But this time, I shrugged and haven't thought about it since.

That's part of a Rich Life to me -- not having to worry.

Instead of stressing about prices on a dinner menu, you can order whatever you want and know the bill won't be a problem. As someone once said, "I want to be able to read the menu from left to right instead of right to left."

Instead of agonizing over whether that book or course will be worth the money, you can just buy it and find out. If it helps, great! If not, on to the next thing.

When you know you can handle all the little expenses in life, you become calm, cool, and collected. You stop worrying about all the "bad" things that could happen and open your eyes to the good.
