- Learning is more important than earning in the initial days. So start something that you are passionate about even if you don't know how to make money
- As you learn - grow your money blog

Along with CashOverflow Finance Blog, I have a blog on travel, technology, and marketing as well. My wife Neha has a blog on parenting that started generating 200,000 monthly traffic in 2 years of starting. Everyone has one hobby. Convert your hobby into a blog. Don't waste time in deciding the domain name, just pick any name to start with and then get fast speed hosting from SiteGround at 60% discount. You can install Wordpress with a single click and SiteGround provides you free SSL so that your blog will have https in the URL. Here is the guide to configure your blog yourself in 60 minute even if you are not a tech person. I also covered what basic free plugins you have to install after configuring your blog. Let me answer some basic questions that I hear all the time. #1. Should I start on a free platform or buy my own domain A few years ago starting a website/blog was costly because you had to buy the servers and hire developers for making a website. Minimum cost was Rs. 20,000 to set up. Now it's just $48 (Rs. 3200) for the hosting to start your website or blog. You will get your online business identity in the cost in which even interns won't join you. In fact, you can use the discounted links that I provided on cashoverflow.in/tools page. You can use any free WordPress theme to start with. It will save the cost of website development. Or you can buy cheap themes from themeforest.net If you don't really have any money in your pocket - Then start publishing your blogs on medium.com #2. How to get people to read my blog There are two major ways to get people on your blog - Google - Search Engine
- Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc)
We will discuss that on Day 6: How to get initial readers for your blog #3. But, yeah I agree but.., what is the benefit of buying my own domain Imagine what would have happened if I had started cashoverflow on a free Blogspot platform. CashOverflow would not become as big as it is today. How many Blogspot articles do you see on the first page when you search for anything? Rarely, right? You should understand that Google doesn't give ranking to blogs hosted on free platforms. Because Google checks various things when giving ranking to websites and blogs. - Free platforms provide poor server speeds because they host tons of blogs who don't pay them anything to cover the server costs.
- Free platforms do not give options to install WordPress plugins.
You can't build a brand name using a free platform. Would you trust cashoverflow.blogspot.com or www.cashoverflow.in? If you are too afraid to invest even a small amount for setting up your online presence - then you don't have a mindset of an entrepreneur yet! All the successful businessmen invest their time and money in their business so that they can make profits in the future. I will talk about building a business mindset after completing this 7 days free blogging course series. #4. Ok, then how will I make money from my blog. Who will pay me? That's the topic for Day 4, that is tomorrow. I will share various ways to make money online. Most of those worked for me and I am learning new ways to make money from the blog. By that time, start your blog by following this guide Wait for my next email on the topic - [COF] Day 4: Infinite ways to make money from your blog Pardeep Goyal PS: No, there is no accelerated link today. Just digest the information that I shared today. Explore some ideas and ask me questions if you have any. | |
